An entrepreneur is is any person who works to make their ideas happen.

There are many definitions of entrepreneurship, each with its emphasis on the very different elements of what entrepreneurship can be. Steve Gedeon (2010) has organized these definitions into several categories:

  • risk,
  • recognizing and pursuing opportunities,
  • and the traits of an entrepreneur.

Tina Seelig(2014), Executive Director for the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, defines entrepreneurship as “apply(ing) innovation to bring ideas to fruition”.

Some definitions of entrepreneurship can be exclusive, which makes entrepreneurship seem less accessible. In reality, however, everyone can think entrepreneurially and be an entrepreneur.
